When you are using any office printer at the time of printing a document or photo it is necessary to enter a password. It will protect your important document from other unauthorized users. After some period you forgot your password and don’t know about your lost password then this blog post helpful for you please follow given steps-
Step 1: First, you need to turn your Brother printer off.
Step 2: Now, you have to unplug all the connection (USB cable or Ethernet cable) attached with your printer.
Step 3: Wait for some time then plug only USB Cable into your computer and turn on your Brother printer.
Step 4: Now, you can go to the control panel and click on the “View Devices & Printer” option.
Step 5: From this window you are able to see your Brother printer model number, its IP Address, etc. Note down all information about your Brother printer for future use.
Step 6: Now, at the same window double-click on your Brother printer model and go to the “Get More Support” option (see in red box).
Step 7: On the next window click on the “Troubleshoot” option. Clicking on this link will open a new window for you. Here you can see two links at the bottom of the page, one is for recovering your printer model password and the second one is for resetting your printer model to default. Now click on the “Reset Printer Model To Default” link (see in red box).
Step 8: On the next window you can see two options, first one is “Perform Reset Using Hardware Factory Reset Buttons” and the second one is “Use The Printer’s On-Screen Menus”.
Step 9: If you have a printer with factory reset buttons then click on “Use The Printer’s On-Screen Menus” link. Now, Brother printer will ask you to press and hold the cancel button and then press resume button for 5 seconds. Pressing both buttons at the same time.
Step 10: When both buttons are pressed then release the cancel button but keep pressing resume until you see “Factory Reset Start” at the printer’s display screen. Now your printer will start restoring to factory default settings. At last, you can see the “Factory Data Cleared” message on Brother printer LCD screen.
Step 11: If you have a printer without factory reset buttons then click on “Use The Printer’s On-Screen Menus” link. Now, press the resume button for 10 seconds. Press the resume button continuously until you see “Enter Special Key Combo” at the printer’s display screen then release it.
Step 12: Now your printer will ask to enter the default printer password or PIN, so type 0000 or 1234 at the special key combo box and click on the OK button.
Step 13: Now your printer will show you a new window to confirm that you are using default settings.
Step 14: Finally, click on “Finish” to complete the process.
You have successfully reset your Brother printer password and now you can use it without password. Please keep this instruction sheet for future reference.
Note: If you forget or lose your printer model number then just go to the “Can’t find your model” link (see in red box) and download driver software according to your operating system. After install remove the USB cable from PC and turn off your Brother printer and plug USB cable again. Now you can see a window of “Found New Hardware” after turning on your printer. At last, follow steps 2 to 9 and reset the password for your printer.
